Going to any holiday parties this season? If you’re not sure what to buy, here are a couple of tips that may help.

(1) Pick Your Red

Every season has a version of red; it’s just a matter of making sure the red you choose is the one that will work best for you. But it doesn’t have to be red. I’ve seen lots of holiday shimmer in other colors, as well.

Which colors are you planning to wear this season?

(2) Flatter Your Figure

Believe me, I know all too well how hard it can be to find “the perfect dress!” If the color is right, the shape or style is wrong. Or vice versa. But it’s worth it to hang in there and keep looking until you find the dress or outfit that makes you shine.

If you are apple-shaped, you may need a dress plus a wrap or dressy cardigan/duster. If you have an hourglass figure, then the duster will make you look bigger than you are (unless you belt it).

So identify your body type, if you haven’t already, and make sure you shop for that in addition to looking for the right color.

(3) Express Yourself

This tip may be the most important one of all. Make sure that the picture you are going to create with your holiday outfit expresses the real you. If it doesn’t, you may end up feeling stiff and uncomfortable, and not having the great time you wanted.

Others may be thrown off, too, because the way you look on the outside doesn’t match the person they know you to be on the inside.

Keep all three tips in mind as you take a look at what’s out there this season. Here’s hoping you don’t buy something that will just take up space in your closet, but will actually find something that looks and feels like it was made just for you!

Have a wonderful holiday season!!
